Weeksie (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the platform at https://weeksie.vercel.app. We connect guests looking for furnished short-to-medium-term accommodation with property operators across Australia.

We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Name, email address, and phone number when you create an account
  • Payment information processed securely by Stripe (we never store full card numbers)
  • Booking details including check-in/check-out dates and the property booked
  • Messages sent between guests and operators through our platform
  • Reviews you submit for properties you have stayed at
  • Property details submitted by operators listing on our platform

We may also collect usage data automatically, such as pages visited and search queries, to improve our service.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process bookings and payments
  • Send booking confirmations and status updates by email
  • Facilitate communication between guests and operators
  • Display reviews on property listings
  • Improve our platform and prevent fraud
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Disclosure of your information

We may share your information with:

  • Stripe — to process payments securely
  • Resend — to send transactional emails
  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider
  • Property operators — your name and contact details are shared with the operator of a property you book
  • Law enforcement or regulators — where required by law

All third-party providers are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

5. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure token authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Booking and payment records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with Australian tax and financial record-keeping requirements. You may request deletion of your account data at any time (see section 8).

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and session management only. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
  • Make a complaint about how we handle your information

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our platform. Continued use of our platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
